Can I see a doctor after a car accident if I can't pay upfront?
Yes. Epion treats car accident patients on a personal injury lien. You receive care now, and your treatment is paid from your settlement when your case resolves. Your attorney signs the lien or letter of protection, so there is nothing to pay at your visit.
What is a medical lien?
A medical lien is a written agreement that lets a doctor be paid from a personal injury settlement instead of at the time of treatment. Your attorney signs it and pays the provider directly out of the settlement at the end of the case.
Do I need an attorney to be treated on a lien?
In most cases, yes, because the lien is signed with your attorney. If you have not hired one yet, call us. Our team can explain your options, including using your own health insurance for accident-related care.
How soon should I see a doctor after a car accident?
As soon as possible. Neck, back and nerve pain often appears hours or days after a collision, once inflammation sets in. Seeing a specialist early helps you recover faster and creates a clear medical record that connects your injuries to the accident.
What should I bring to my first accident visit?
Bring a photo ID, your attorney's name and phone number, your claim number, any health insurance card, and imaging or records from the ER, urgent care or physical therapy. Completing the new patient forms before you arrive saves time.
